The Bar
The bar is a horseshoe shape serving the snug, lobby and the informal dining areas. This is where your experience at the George begins, with our friendly bar staff welcoming you in. We pride ourselves on ensuring all our staff can answer all your questions about the food and drink on offer and where it can be consumed.
Beverages on offer include the Palmers range of ales, Copper, IPA, 200, bicentenary brew and a seasonal brew such as Tally Ho all kept in the best condition. All brewed a couple of miles down the road in Bridport at Palmer’s old thatched brewery where techniques and machinery of old are still used. Ask about brewery tours which run regularly. The Palmers range also includes home-made lemonades and tonics and their famous Ginger beer all made from their own spring water. A comprehensive wine list from around the world, Spanish Rioja, South African Shiraz, Chilean Sauvignon blanc and Italian Pinot Grigio are just a few available with our range of Australian house wines. For those driving or wanting something non-alcoholic and refreshing we have a large selection of fruit juices, mineral waters and soft drinks. Popular lagers, ciders and spirits finish off the range.
